An old adage with agricultural roots and all the makings of a modern slogan, and an especially appropriate one. At the start of this summer, the outdoor exhibition LINEN INCREDIBLE! Flax in the City will bring an unexpected jolt  to the cityscape in Florence. A special event organized in collaboration with the Centro Lino Italiano, Pitti Immagine and the international menswear trade fair Pitti Uomo.

Questo adagio del buonsenso agricolo è considerato uno slogan e suona come una parola d’ordine. Con l’inizio dell’estate, la mostra per il grande pubblico fuori le mura LINCREDIBLE RACCOLTO sconvolge il nostro paesaggio a Firenze. Un appuntamento organizzato in collaborazione con il Centro Lino Italiano, Pitti Immagine e il Salone internazionale della moda maschile Pitti Uomo.

SOLSTISS’ LINEN LACE FOR THE GREAT GATSBY

GATSBY LE MAGNIFIQUE: séduction, démesure et costumes spectaculaires. C’est le dentellier français SOLSTISS qui a été choisi par Catherine Martin pour réaliser les 210 dentelles des robes du film, soit 1,4 kilomètre !

Mixant les époques, les dentelles choisies proviennent des archives aussi bien que des toutes dernières innovations développées par la Recherche & Développement Solstiss.

C’est le cas de cette dentelle Leavers en lin mélangé, sélectionnée parmi la vaste gamme LIN de Solstiss ! Plusieurs dizaines de dessins déclinés dans différentes largeurs et galons, en naturel et en couleurs…

Dont certains à découvrir du 4 au 9 juin dans l’exposition grand public LINCROYABLE RECOLTE, place du Palais Royal_Paris.

homemade / handmade @Tamat, Tournai

Après Portneuf au Québec, Montréal puis Paris, l’exposition Homemade/Handmade  investit le TAMAT (Musée de la Tapisserie) à Tournai.

Daniel Henry, Commissaire de l’exposition avait été invité à concevoir ce projet pour la Biennale Internationale du Lin de Portneuf en 2011.

Il a sélectionné et étraoitement collaboré avec 12 créateurs, jeunes ou confirmés, québécois, belges et français, pour cette exposition de design qui met à l’honneur le lin, le savoir-faire et la recherche textile comme moteur de la création vestimentaire.

La présentation du Tamat apporte un nouvel éclairage à ces créations, en les confrontant à ses collections, allant des tapisseries du XVème siècle aux oeuvres les plus contemporaines.

« Decide for yourself what you want to wear » by Shufu to Seikatsusha is a fashion and lifestyle statement.

A must-have, especially for Japanese-language fashion lovers, it features photos and personnal style and influences of Yoriko Sakurama, designer for Vlas Blomme.

Satoshi Ishii founded Vlas Blomme – Flemish for « linen flower ”- in 2006. With designer Yoriko Sakurama, this ready-to-wear company for men and women, specializing in linen, opened its first store the following year in Tokyo.

As the true base of Vlas Blomme’s philosophy, every design has a “ Kortrijk linen 100% ” label. This way they highlight their collaboration with Belgian spinner Jos Vanneste and honor the historic origins of the European linen industry : Satoshi Ishii decided to name his company Vlas Blomme after visiting the linen museum – Vlasmuseum – in Courtrai / Kortrijk.

VOSGES TERRE TEXTILE FLASHE SUR LE LINEN DREAM LAB

Dans le cadre de l’opération de VOSGES TERRE TEXTILE « Vous allez flasher sur moi » , le Linen Dream lab a accueilli ce samedi 6 avril les équipes du tisseur K Industries et de l’ennoblisseur Crouvezier Développement.

L’occasion d’échanger sur les savoir-faire de la filière lin, de l’amont agricole au textile fini.

Et des valeurs communes, identité de terroir, passion, excellence, traçabilité et innovation, partagées par plusieurs liniers vosgiens, K Industries, Crouvezier Développement mais aussi Garnier Thiebaut, Tissage Levêque, Tenthorey, Mouline Thillot, Valrupt...

La découverte se prolonge par trois flashmobs, organisées à 14h30 sur le parvis de Beaubourg, devant la mairie du IVe arrondissement, et sur la place… des Vosges !

Au delà de l’aspect ludique de la performance, le grand public pourra rencontrer et échanger avec les 400 professionnels textiles vosgiens. Et grâce aux flashcodes portés par chacun d’entre eux, découvrir les vidéos illustrant ces savoir faire textiles inédits et innovants.

Aldo Rivolta goes on to say: “We have also installed our own photovoltaics plant with a top performance of 190 kwP, which enables an up to 20 % energy saving and CO2 emission savings of 115 tons per year. And we benefit from certification to OEKO-TEX® standard 1000, as we are able to organise our production processes even more efficiently than before based on the standard.”
