WHITEDOT launch « flax skis » at ISPO 2012

Ski manufacturers WHITEDOT, headquartered in the UK, are constantly testing new materials, shapes and technologies. At the recent ISPO, Andrew Phyn, Managing Director of Whitedot talks about a new range of skis made with flax fibre: « We tried it in a couple of skis and it works really well so we’ve  rolled it out in Redeemer our biggest powder-ski. It’s exciting because it’s got twice the deadening properties of carbon fibre, we’ve mixed it with carbon fibre and Kevlar and it’s massively light. It’s totally renewable, totally sustainable  … it literally comes from farms in France ». To help lower their carbon foot print, WHITEDOT skis are manufactured in the EU from EU-sourced raw materials.
